BMC Helix ITSM for Claude, ChatGPT and Copilot
Support staff, change coordinators and IT managers put questions to Claude, ChatGPT or Copilot about BMC Helix ITSM: incidents by support group, change requests and their approval phase, problem investigations and known errors, work orders and CIs in the CMDB. Answers stay inside each person's support group access. Changes keep your approval process. Your Helix administrators work through a guided pilot with us to set up the connection.

Changes, governed
What the assistant can prepare in BMC Helix ITSM
The assistant never saves on its own. It prepares the change, the person checks the preview and confirms, and anything above your limits waits for an approver.
- 1 Prepare The assistant drafts the change from the request.
- 2 Preview and confirm The person sees exactly what will change.
- 3 Approve Above your limits, a second person decides.
- 4 Saved and logged Written to BMC Helix ITSM under a named person.
-
Update an incident with a work note and new status
The assigned support staff member confirms before saving.
-
Prepare a change request with impacted CIs
Changes follow your BMC Helix approval phases, with significant and major changes going to the CAB.
-
Create a known error from a problem investigation
The problem manager confirms the workaround text first.
Example rules. During the pilot you set the limits, the approvers and which roles may prepare each change.
Why it needs care
Governance built for BMC Helix ITSM
BMC Helix ITSM often runs IT for banks, insurers and governments, where a wrong change can stop critical services. Support group access sets what each person reaches. A change request is previewed with its impacted CIs, and approvals keep your phases and CAB. For post-incident reviews, lookups of each CI can be traced to a named person.

BMC Helix ITSM questions
Is this the same system as BMC Remedy?
BMC Helix ITSM grew out of Remedy, and many teams still use the Remedy names. The connection covers the same incidents, change requests and problem records, whichever name your team uses.
Does it respect support group permissions?
Yes. Roles are built from your support groups and companies during the pilot, so staff only reach the tickets and CIs their groups and companies already see in BMC Helix, and nothing beyond that.
Can it move a change request through approval phases?
It can prepare the change and show where it is in the process. Each approval is made by the named approver after reviewing the preview, and major changes still go to your CAB.
Does mcpbizapps keep a copy of our BMC Helix ITSM data?
No. When someone asks a question, mcpbizapps reads the answer live from BMC Helix ITSM through a dedicated integration user and returns it without storing it. The audit log records who asked, which tool ran and the result, with personal fields and free text removed.
BMC Helix ITSM is a trademark of its owner. mcpbizapps is not affiliated with BMC Helix; the name describes the connection only.
