ServiceNow ITSM for Claude, ChatGPT and Copilot
Service desk agents, change managers and employees ask Claude, ChatGPT or Copilot about ServiceNow: incidents by priority and assignment group, requested items, change requests on the change schedule, problems and known errors, and CMDB configuration items with their relationships. Each person reaches only what their role allows. Updates are previewed, and change approvals follow your CAB rules. A guided pilot comes first, run with your platform owner.

Changes, governed
What the assistant can prepare in ServiceNow ITSM
The assistant never saves on its own. It prepares the change, the person checks the preview and confirms, and anything above your limits waits for an approver.
- 1 Prepare The assistant drafts the change from the request.
- 2 Preview and confirm The person sees exactly what will change.
- 3 Approve Above your limits, a second person decides.
- 4 Saved and logged Written to ServiceNow ITSM under a named person.
-
Create an incident from an employee's description
The employee confirms the details; priority 1 needs the service desk lead to confirm.
-
Draft a normal change request with affected configuration items
Normal changes go to your CAB; emergency changes need the on-call change manager.
-
Reassign incidents to another assignment group
The service desk lead confirms; moving more than 20 incidents needs the group manager.
-
Resolve an incident with a knowledge article
The assigned agent confirms the resolution notes before the incident is resolved.
Example rules. During the pilot you set the limits, the approvers and which roles may prepare each change.
Why it needs care
Governance built for ServiceNow ITSM
ServiceNow often runs IT, HR and security work on one platform, and its change requests reach production. Access follows your ServiceNow roles and assignment groups. An incident update or change request is shown in full before it is saved, and CAB rules decide approvals as they do today. After an outage, you can see who looked at which configuration item.

ServiceNow ITSM questions
Does it work with ServiceNow ACLs and roles?
Yes. A dedicated integration user holds the connection, and in the pilot mcpbizapps roles are matched to your ServiceNow roles and assignment groups, so an agent only reaches the incidents and requests they may already see.
Can it read CMDB relationships?
Yes. Engineers can ask which services and other configuration items depend on a CI, and what incidents or changes touched it recently. This helps plan changes and judge impact before work starts.
Does it cover HR service delivery or security operations cases?
The pilot focuses on ITSM: incidents, requests, changes, problems and the CMDB. HR or security cases are excluded by default and only added if you choose roles for them with those teams.
Does mcpbizapps keep a copy of our ServiceNow ITSM data?
No. When someone asks a question, mcpbizapps reads the answer live from ServiceNow ITSM through a dedicated integration user and returns it without storing it. The audit log records who asked, which tool ran and the result, with personal fields and free text removed.
ServiceNow ITSM is a trademark of its owner. mcpbizapps is not affiliated with ServiceNow; the name describes the connection only.
