Gainsight for Claude, ChatGPT and Copilot

A CSM's day in Gainsight starts in Cockpit. With mcpbizapps, they can ask Claude, ChatGPT or Copilot which CTAs are open, which accounts turned red, which success plans are behind and what Timeline shows before a call. Each CSM stays in their own book. Health score overrides need the CS team lead, with a reason. The rollout is a guided pilot, starting with a single CS team.

Ask in a sentence

What can your team ask Gainsight?

Questions from CSM, CS team lead, VP of Customer Success and others, answered from live Gainsight data and only for the people allowed to see them.

Records it works with

  • CTAs
  • Health scores
  • Success plans
  • Timeline activities
  • Programs
  • Companies
  • Renewals
  • CSM

“Which of my accounts moved from green to red on the overall health score in the last 30 days, and which measures dropped?”

  • CS team lead

“Which risk CTAs have been open for more than 21 days across the Enterprise team?”

  • VP of Customer Success

“What is the total renewal value due next quarter for accounts with a red health score?”

  • CSM

“Summarize Timeline activity for Brightfield Labs since our last business review.”

  • CS operations manager

“Which success plans have objectives past their due date?”

  • Digital CS manager

“How did the onboarding program perform last month: emails sent, opened and replied?”

Changes, governed

What the assistant can prepare in Gainsight

The assistant never saves on its own. It prepares the change, the person checks the preview and confirms, and anything above your limits waits for an approver.

  1. 1 Prepare The assistant drafts the change from the request.
  2. 2 Preview and confirm The person sees exactly what will change.
  3. 3 Approve Above your limits, a second person decides.
  4. 4 Saved and logged Written to Gainsight under a named person.
  • Create a risk CTA with a playbook for an account

Risk CTAs on accounts above $100,000 ARR alert the team lead when they are created.

  • Log a Timeline activity from meeting notes

A CSM logs activity on their own accounts without another approver.

  • Add contacts to a Journey Orchestrator program

Adding more than 50 contacts needs the digital CS manager to approve, because the program emails them.

  • Override a health score measure

Any manual override needs the CS team lead to approve, with a reason recorded.

Example rules. During the pilot you set the limits, the approvers and which roles may prepare each change.

Why it needs care

Governance built for Gainsight

Gainsight combines renewal values, usage by named users and notes from customer calls. Leaders see their teams and CSMs their own book. Journey Orchestrator programs email customers, so adding more than 50 contacts needs the digital CS manager. A manual health override is the other risk, since it can hide a problem, and it always needs the team lead.

  • Sign-in by work email

Only people you invite, with a one-time code. No shared logins.

  • Roles per tool

Each role reaches only the Gainsight records it needs.

  • View only, if you prefer

Admins can keep a connection to lookups with one switch.

  • A preview first

Every change is shown in full before anything is saved.

  • Approval rules

Above your limits, a second person approves the change.

  • One audit log

Every request tied to a named person, ready for review.

Gainsight questions

Can ChatGPT read Gainsight health scores and CTAs?

Yes, for roles you allow. A CSM can ask why an account's health score changed or which CTAs are overdue, and the answer comes from Gainsight at that moment, with the measures behind the score named.

Can the assistant create CTAs with playbooks?

Yes. It prepares the CTA with the reason, priority and playbook tasks, and shows it as a preview. The CSM confirms it, and CTAs on large accounts can notify a team lead too.

Does it work with Journey Orchestrator?

It can report on program results and prepare changes, such as adding contacts to a program. Adding contacts above your limit needs approval, because those programs send emails to customers.

Does mcpbizapps keep a copy of our Gainsight data?

No. When someone asks a question, mcpbizapps reads the answer live from Gainsight through a dedicated integration user and returns it without storing it. The audit log records who asked, which tool ran and the result, with personal fields and free text removed.

Gainsight is a trademark of its owner. mcpbizapps is not affiliated with Gainsight; the name describes the connection only.
