Intercom for Claude, ChatGPT and Copilot

Support teams on Intercom can ask Claude, ChatGPT or Copilot what is waiting in each team inbox, which tickets belong to a company, which topics Fin handed over and which articles customers read before writing in. mcpbizapps keeps teammates to their inboxes and decides who may see user attributes. A message to more than 50 users waits for the head of support. A guided pilot starts with one team inbox.

Changes, governed

What the assistant can prepare in Intercom

The assistant never saves on its own. It prepares the change, the person checks the preview and confirms, and anything above your limits waits for an approver.

  1. 1 Prepare The assistant drafts the change from the request.
  2. 2 Preview and confirm The person sees exactly what will change.
  3. 3 Approve Above your limits, a second person decides.
  4. 4 Saved and logged Written to Intercom under a named person.
  • Assign a set of conversations to another team inbox

Moving more than 20 conversations needs the support team lead to approve.

  • Convert a conversation into a tracker ticket for engineering

The support specialist confirms the preview with the linked customers listed.

  • Send a message to users affected by an outage

Messages to more than 50 users need the head of customer support to approve.

Example rules. During the pilot you set the limits, the approvers and which roles may prepare each change.

Why it needs care

Governance built for Intercom

Intercom ties what users did in your product to what they said in chat, and both link to their email and company. Product events and user attributes can be kept to support specialists. Outbound messages are the sharp edge: an outage note sent to the wrong segment cannot be unsent, so large sends need the head of support.

  • Sign-in by work email

Only people you invite, with a one-time code. No shared logins.

  • Roles per tool

Each role reaches only the Intercom records it needs.

  • View only, if you prefer

Admins can keep a connection to lookups with one switch.

  • A preview first

Every change is shown in full before anything is saved.

  • Approval rules

Above your limits, a second person approves the change.

  • One audit log

Every request tied to a named person, ready for review.

    Agree the questions

We list the Intercom questions and changes your team needs, and who may use each.

Your Intercom administrator creates a dedicated integration user with only that access.

  3. 03

    Test with your people

A small group tries it in Claude, ChatGPT or Copilot while we tune the tools.

  4. 04

    Roll out with rules

Roles, approval limits and the audit log are in place before everyone joins.

Intercom questions

Does this work alongside Fin?

Yes. Fin keeps answering customers as it does today. mcpbizapps gives your team a governed way to ask about conversations, including the ones Fin handed over, and to prepare follow-up actions from Claude, ChatGPT or Copilot.

Can the assistant message Intercom users?

It can draft a message and list everyone who would receive it. The teammate confirms the preview, and messages to larger groups wait for a support leader to approve, so an outage note never goes to the wrong audience.

Can it see user data and events?

Only for roles you allow. Support specialists might see the attributes and recent events on a user to help troubleshoot, while other roles see conversation history alone. You decide where that line sits for each team.

Does mcpbizapps keep a copy of our Intercom data?

No. When someone asks a question, mcpbizapps reads the answer live from Intercom through a dedicated integration user and returns it without storing it. The audit log records who asked, which tool ran and the result, with personal fields and free text removed.

Intercom is a trademark of its owner. mcpbizapps is not affiliated with Intercom; the name describes the connection only.
