Planful for Claude, ChatGPT and Copilot
Planful users can ask Claude, ChatGPT or Copilot which Structured Planning templates are still in progress, how a forecast scenario compares with the budget, what a Dynamic Planning model shows for a driver and where close tasks stand in consolidation. Each person sees the entities and scenarios their role covers. Large template edits need approval. Planful comes online in a guided pilot that agrees templates and models in scope.

Changes, governed
What the assistant can prepare in Planful
The assistant never saves on its own. It prepares the change, the person checks the preview and confirms, and anything above your limits waits for an approver.
- 1 Prepare The assistant drafts the change from the request.
- 2 Preview and confirm The person sees exactly what will change.
- 3 Approve Above your limits, a second person decides.
- 4 Saved and logged Written to Planful under a named person.
-
Update a line in a Structured Planning template
Edits above $30,000 for the year need the planning manager before submission.
-
Copy a forecast scenario for a what-if case
The FP&A director confirms new scenarios; copies stay out of reports until approved.
-
Mark a close task as complete with a note
The task owner confirms, and reconciliations above your materiality level need the controller.
Example rules. During the pilot you set the limits, the approvers and which roles may prepare each change.
Why it needs care
Governance built for Planful
Planful holds the budgets, forecasts and consolidated results leadership takes to the board. Two things can go wrong: a template edit that inflates a budget, or a close task marked done too early. Large edits wait for the planning manager, and reconciliations above materiality need the controller before a task closes.

Planful questions
Does it work with both Structured Planning and Dynamic Planning?
Yes. Structured Planning templates and Dynamic Planning models can both be in scope. During the pilot we agree which templates, models and scenarios each role may read, and which it may change.
Can it help with the close as well as planning?
Yes. Controllers can ask which entities have open close tasks, which reconciliations are pending and how this month’s consolidation compares with last month, alongside planning questions in the same conversation.
Will budget owners need Planful licenses to ask questions?
Questions go through one dedicated integration user, and mcpbizapps decides what each person may see by role. We review your Planful agreement with you during the pilot so usage stays within its terms.
Does mcpbizapps keep a copy of our Planful data?
No. When someone asks a question, mcpbizapps reads the answer live from Planful through a dedicated integration user and returns it without storing it. The audit log records who asked, which tool ran and the result, with personal fields and free text removed.
Planful is a trademark of its owner. mcpbizapps is not affiliated with Planful; the name describes the connection only.
