Snowflake for Claude, ChatGPT and Copilot
Analysts and business teams can put questions to Snowflake from Claude, ChatGPT or Copilot. Answers come from secure views in approved schemas, the revenue tables your data team maintains and the credit use of each virtual warehouse. Questions run on a warehouse you choose, and row access policies follow the person's role. Every generated query is kept with the name of whoever asked. Setup happens in a guided pilot with your data team.

Ask in a sentence
What can your team ask Snowflake?
Questions from data analyst, finance analyst, analytics engineer and others, answered from live Snowflake data and only for the people allowed to see them.
Records it works with
- Databases
- Schemas
- Secure views
- Tables
- Virtual warehouses
- Row access policies
- Masking policies
- Resource monitors
- Data analyst
“What was net revenue by region last quarter, using the approved revenue view in the finance_reporting schema?”
- Finance analyst
“Which customers in the ARR view grew more than 20% year over year, limited to my territory?”
- Analytics engineer
“Which views in the marts schema have not been queried by anyone in the last 90 days?”
- Head of data
“How many credits did each virtual warehouse use this month, and which one grew fastest?”
- Head of operations
“How many orders shipped late last week by fulfillment center, according to the operations view?”
- Data steward
“Which columns tagged as personal data in the customer schema still have no masking policy?”
Changes, governed
What the assistant can prepare in Snowflake
The assistant never saves on its own. It prepares the change, the person checks the preview and confirms, and anything above your limits waits for an approver.
- 1 Prepare The assistant drafts the change from the request.
- 2 Preview and confirm The person sees exactly what will change.
- 3 Approve Above your limits, a second person decides.
- 4 Saved and logged Written to Snowflake under a named person.
-
Suspend an idle virtual warehouse that is still running
The data platform owner confirms; warehouses tagged for production need a second approver.
-
Raise a resource monitor credit quota for month end
Increases above 15% of the monthly quota need the head of data to approve.
-
Request read access to a new schema for a teammate
The schema owner approves, and anything with masked columns also needs the data steward.
Example rules. During the pilot you set the limits, the approvers and which roles may prepare each change.
Why it needs care
Governance built for Snowflake
Snowflake often holds the whole company in one place, with revenue, payroll extracts and customer details side by side. Each role sees only its approved schemas and secure views, and masking policies on sensitive columns still apply. A scan cap stops one question from reading a huge table. Later, the data team can review every generated query with a name attached.

How Snowflake gets connected
We connect Snowflake for your team in a guided pilot, on the same gateway every app uses. No code on your side.
- 01
Agree the questions
We list the Snowflake questions and changes your team needs, and who may use each.
- 02
Connect with your admin
Your Snowflake administrator creates a dedicated integration user with only that access.
- 03
Test with your people
A small group tries it in Claude, ChatGPT or Copilot while we tune the tools.
- 04
Roll out with rules
Roles, approval limits and the audit log are in place before everyone joins.

Snowflake questions
Can Claude write SQL against Snowflake?
It can, within limits you set. The assistant writes the query, mcpbizapps checks that it only reads from the views approved for that role, and it runs on the virtual warehouse you pick. Queries that would scan too much stop before they run, and each one is logged.
Does it respect Snowflake masking and row access policies?
Yes. Queries run under a dedicated Snowflake role for the integration user, so the policies you already apply to secure views and columns stay in force. During the pilot we map each mcpbizapps role to the right row limits, so a regional manager sees only their region.
Will questions from an assistant drive up our Snowflake bill?
Questions run on a warehouse you size for them, with a resource monitor if you want a hard cap on credits. mcpbizapps can also refuse queries above a scan limit and shows admins which roles and people ask the most.
Does mcpbizapps keep a copy of our Snowflake data?
No. When someone asks a question, mcpbizapps reads the answer live from Snowflake through a dedicated integration user and returns it without storing it. The audit log records who asked, which tool ran and the result, with personal fields and free text removed.
Snowflake is a trademark of its owner. mcpbizapps is not affiliated with Snowflake; the name describes the connection only.
