Arena PLM for Claude, ChatGPT and Copilot
Engineering teams on Arena PLM ask the same things before every change: which ECOs wait on my approval, where is this part used across BOMs, which items are still in a preliminary revision, which CAPAs are open. mcpbizapps lets Claude, ChatGPT or Copilot answer them, following each person's role. Arena joins in a guided pilot for your product team that leaves your change routing exactly as it is.

Ask in a sentence
What can your team ask Arena PLM?
Questions from product engineer, engineering manager, buyer and others, answered from live Arena PLM data and only for the people allowed to see them.
Records it works with

- ECOs
- Change requests
- Quality processes
- Suppliers
- Files
- Product engineer
“Which assemblies use resistor 300-0412, and which of them are in production?”
- Engineering manager
“Which ECOs submitted this month are still waiting on approval, and for whom?”
- Buyer
“Which items on the Model 9 BOM have only one approved supplier?”
- Quality engineer
“Which CAPAs tied to the battery enclosure are still open past 30 days?”

Changes, governed
What the assistant can prepare in Arena PLM
The assistant never saves on its own. It prepares the change, the person checks the preview and confirms, and anything above your limits waits for an approver.
- 1 Prepare The assistant drafts the change from the request.
- 2 Preview and confirm The person sees exactly what will change.
- 3 Approve Above your limits, a second person decides.
- 4 Saved and logged Written to Arena PLM under a named person.
-
Draft an ECO to replace an obsolete part across affected BOMs
The ECO follows your Arena routing; the assistant only drafts it, and approvers sign off in Arena.
-
Add a supplier part to an item
New suppliers on production items need the supply chain manager to approve.
-
Open a change request from a field issue
Change requests start routing once the engineer has checked the field details; Arena's own review comes after.
Example rules. During the pilot you set the limits, the approvers and which roles may prepare each change.
Why it needs care
Governance built for Arena PLM
Arena holds the released designs and change history manufacturing builds from, so an unreviewed edit can put the wrong part on the line. The assistant drafts ECOs but never approves them, and sign off happens in your normal routing. A new supplier on a production item needs the supply chain manager. Engineers stay in their own product lines, and each draft carries its author's name.

Arena PLM questions
Can the assistant approve ECOs in Arena?
No. Approvals stay with your named reviewers in Arena. The assistant can draft an ECO with the affected items and BOMs, summarize an ECO for a reviewer and tell you who has not signed off yet.
Can it do where-used searches across BOMs?
Yes. Ask where a part number is used and the answer lists each assembly with its revision and lifecycle phase, so engineers see the reach of a change before drafting it.
Does mcpbizapps keep a copy of our Arena PLM data?
No. When someone asks a question, mcpbizapps reads the answer live from Arena PLM through a dedicated integration user and returns it without storing it. The audit log records who asked, which tool ran and the result, with personal fields and free text removed.
Arena PLM is a trademark of its owner. mcpbizapps is not affiliated with PTC; the name describes the connection only.
