AI assistants for manufacturing and maintenance
Plant managers, planners, engineers and technicians ask questions between jobs: what is running late, which asset keeps failing, what changed in a BOM. mcpbizapps lets Claude, ChatGPT or Copilot answer from your production, maintenance and product lifecycle apps, for the plant and lines each person works on. Anything touching safety, released designs or the production schedule is shown first and waits for the right approver.

Use cases
What teams use it for
-
Production status at shift start
A plant manager asks which jobs are behind schedule, which lines had the most downtime overnight and what scrap looked like, without pulling three reports before the morning meeting.
-
Maintenance history on the floor
A technician standing at a pump asks when it was last serviced, which parts were used and whether a preventive task is overdue, then prepares a work order for review.
-
Engineering change questions
Engineers and buyers ask which assemblies an engineering change affects, which approvals are still open and which suppliers make the parts being replaced.
-
Material shortages before release
Planners ask which orders scheduled this week are short on components and which purchase orders would cover them, so release decisions start from current numbers.

Questions people ask in Manufacturing and industrial apps
A sample from the app pages. Each answer comes live from the app, for the people allowed to see it.
- “Which jobs at the Saltillo plant are more than one shift behind schedule?”
- “How many nonconformances were opened this month for the gearbox housing, by defect type?”
- “Which items on the Model 9 BOM have only one approved supplier?”
- “Which BOM items for the base station have a lifecycle status of end of life?”
- “Which five assets had the most unplanned downtime this quarter?”
- “Which parts used on work orders this month are now below their minimum?”
- “Which work orders assigned to the night crew at the Fresno plant are overdue?”
- “What is the current cost to make one walnut serving board, including operations?”
- “Which product had the highest waste percentage last month, and what reasons were logged?”

What to control in Manufacturing and industrial
On a plant floor, the costly errors are a maintenance task closed while a guard or lockout step is still undone, and a BOM change that sends scrap down the line. People only reach their own plant, lines and assets. Each change appears as a preview. Safety critical work and released design changes always go to a qualified approver, and quality and safety reviews can see who started each step.

Manufacturing and industrial questions
Can an assistant close maintenance work orders on its own?
No. It can prepare notes, parts used and a completion request, but a person confirms each one. You can require a supervisor to approve closure for safety-critical assets, and those rules apply to every request the assistant makes.
Will it change our released BOMs or routings?
Only through your normal change process. The assistant can draft a change request with the affected items listed, and the engineering approvers you already have decide. Released data is never edited directly from a chat.
Does it work for people on the shop floor?
Yes. Technicians and operators sign in with their work email from a phone or tablet, and their role keeps them to the assets, lines and work they are responsible for.
