Figma for Claude, ChatGPT and Copilot

Product managers, developers and designers can ask Claude, ChatGPT or Copilot about Figma: open comments on a file, frames marked ready for development, the colors and spacing in a component and what changed in a library. Teams and projects follow each role, and comments are shown before they appear. FigJam boards can join the guided pilot if your team plans in them.

Changes, governed

What the assistant can prepare in Figma

The assistant never saves on its own. It prepares the change, the person checks the preview and confirms, and anything above your limits waits for an approver.

  1. 1 Prepare The assistant drafts the change from the request.
  2. 2 Preview and confirm The person sees exactly what will change.
  3. 3 Approve Above your limits, a second person decides.
  4. 4 Saved and logged Written to Figma under a named person.
  • Add a comment summarizing feedback from a design review

The person confirms the comment text before it appears on the file.

  • Reply to an open comment thread on a file

The person reviews the reply, and threads in files shared with outside guests need the file owner to approve.

  • Create Jira issues from unresolved Figma comments

The product manager confirms the list of issues before any are created.

Example rules. During the pilot you set the limits, the approvers and which roles may prepare each change.

Why it needs care

Governance built for Figma

Figma files show products before they launch, and libraries hold the brand in detail. The assistant reads designs but never edits them. Replies on files shared with outside guests need the file owner, and a product manager confirms Jira issues before any are created. Design leads can see who opened which file through their assistant.

  • Sign-in by work email

Only people you invite, with a one-time code. No shared logins.

  • Roles per tool

Each role reaches only the Figma records it needs.

  • View only, if you prefer

Admins can keep a connection to lookups with one switch.

  • A preview first

Every change is shown in full before anything is saved.

  • Approval rules

Above your limits, a second person approves the change.

  • One audit log

Every request tied to a named person, ready for review.

How Figma gets connected

We connect Figma for your team in a guided pilot, on the same gateway every app uses. No code on your side.

  1. 01

    Agree the questions

We list the Figma questions and changes your team needs, and who may use each.

  2. 02

    Connect with your admin

Your Figma administrator creates a dedicated integration user with only that access.

  3. 03

    Test with your people

A small group tries it in Claude, ChatGPT or Copilot while we tune the tools.

  4. 04

    Roll out with rules

Roles, approval limits and the audit log are in place before everyone joins.

Figma questions

Can the assistant edit designs in Figma?

No. Design work stays with designers. The assistant reads files, frames, components and comments so product managers and developers can ask about them, and it prepares comments that a person confirms before they appear.

Can developers get design details without opening the file?

Yes. A developer can ask for the spacing, colors, text styles and variants of a component or frame, and the answer comes from the current file. Designers stay the owners of the design itself.

Does it work with FigJam boards too?

We can include FigJam boards in the pilot when your team uses them for planning or workshops. The assistant reads the sticky notes and comments on the boards that your roles allow.

Does mcpbizapps keep a copy of our Figma data?

No. When someone asks a question, mcpbizapps reads the answer live from Figma through a dedicated integration user and returns it without storing it. The audit log records who asked, which tool ran and the result, with personal fields and free text removed.

Figma is a trademark of its owner. mcpbizapps is not affiliated with Figma; the name describes the connection only.
