Jedox for Claude, ChatGPT and Copilot

Jedox is where controllers and planners keep their cubes, and Claude, ChatGPT or Copilot can now read them. Ask for values by version and period, how consolidated elements roll up, which cost centers are behind in a planning workflow and how actuals compare with plan. Write-back is shown as a preview first. Jedox is connected through a guided pilot that mirrors the element rights you already have.

Ask in a sentence

What can your team ask Jedox?

Questions from controller, cost center manager, planning coordinator and others, answered from live Jedox data and only for the people allowed to see them.

Records it works with

  • Databases
  • Cubes
  • Dimensions
  • Elements
  • Versions
  • Views
  • Workflows
  • Controller

“In the sales cube, how does plan compare with actual for the DACH region through Q3, in euros?”

  • Cost center manager

“Which accounts in cost center 4710 are above plan this year?”

  • Planning coordinator

“Which cost centers have not finished their step in the 2027 budget workflow?”

  • Head of controlling

“What is the difference between the Forecast 2 and Budget versions for EBIT, by business unit?”

  • Plant controller

“Which products in the production cube have the highest material cost per unit this quarter?”

  • Sales planner

“Which customer groups have no plan volume entered for next year?”

Changes, governed

What the assistant can prepare in Jedox

The assistant never saves on its own. It prepares the change, the person checks the preview and confirms, and anything above your limits waits for an approver.

  1. 1 Prepare The assistant drafts the change from the request.
  2. 2 Preview and confirm The person sees exactly what will change.
  3. 3 Approve Above your limits, a second person decides.
  4. 4 Saved and logged Written to Jedox under a named person.
  • Write back a revised plan value to a cost center element

Changes above €25,000 for the year need the controller to approve.

  • Spread an annual amount across months by last year’s pattern

The planner confirms the monthly preview before anything is written back.

  • Copy one version to another for a forecast round

The head of controlling approves every version copy.

Example rules. During the pilot you set the limits, the approvers and which roles may prepare each change.

Why it needs care

Governance built for Jedox

Jedox cubes often hold cost detail by product or employee, and one write-back to a consolidated element can spread across many cells. The preview lists every cell that would change. The head of controlling approves each version copy, and large edits wait for the controller.

  • Sign-in by work email

Only people you invite, with a one-time code. No shared logins.

  • Roles per tool

Each role reaches only the Jedox records it needs.

  • View only, if you prefer

Admins can keep a connection to lookups with one switch.

  • A preview first

Every change is shown in full before anything is saved.

  • Approval rules

Above your limits, a second person approves the change.

  • One audit log

Every request tied to a named person, ready for review.

Jedox questions

Does the assistant respect Jedox element rights?

mcpbizapps roles are set during the pilot to match the dimension elements and cubes each group already has, so a cost center manager sees only their own cost centers and versions.

Can it write back to Jedox like the Excel add-in?

It can prepare write-back to the cubes and versions you allow. The person sees which cells will change and by how much, confirms it, and approvers handle anything above your limits.

Can it follow our planning workflow?

Yes. Coordinators can ask who has not completed their step, and owners can see what is waiting for them. Approval steps inside your Jedox workflow stay exactly where they are.

Does mcpbizapps keep a copy of our Jedox data?

No. When someone asks a question, mcpbizapps reads the answer live from Jedox through a dedicated integration user and returns it without storing it. The audit log records who asked, which tool ran and the result, with personal fields and free text removed.

Jedox is a trademark of its owner. mcpbizapps is not affiliated with Jedox; the name describes the connection only.
