Paylocity for Claude, ChatGPT and Copilot

Supervisors fixing a missed punch and payroll staff checking a cost center ask Claude, ChatGPT or Copilot about Paylocity the same way: pay statements, earnings and deductions, punches and timesheets, time off requests, labor costs and open onboarding. Answers stay inside each person's company and cost center access. Pay edits go to a second approver, never straight to payroll. Your payroll lead and our team connect Paylocity in a guided pilot.

Ask in a sentence

What can your team ask Paylocity?

Questions from payroll manager, HR business partner, plant manager and others, answered from live Paylocity data and only for the people allowed to see them.

Records it works with

  • Employees
  • Pay statements
  • Punches
  • Timesheets
  • Time off requests
  • Cost centers
  • Deductions
  • Onboarding
  • Payroll manager

“Which employees have missing punches on timesheets for the pay period ending Friday?”

  • HR business partner

“Which new hires in the Chicago company have open onboarding steps?”

  • Plant manager

“How many overtime hours did each cost center at the Elgin plant log last week?”

  • Payroll analyst

“Compare gross pay on the last two pay statements for everyone with more than a 15 percent change.”

  • Benefits specialist

“Which employees have a dependent care deduction this year, and how much remains?”

  • Shift manager

“Who on second shift has time off requests for the next two weeks?”

Changes, governed

What the assistant can prepare in Paylocity

The assistant never saves on its own. It prepares the change, the person checks the preview and confirms, and anything above your limits waits for an approver.

  1. 1 Prepare The assistant drafts the change from the request.
  2. 2 Preview and confirm The person sees exactly what will change.
  3. 3 Approve Above your limits, a second person decides.
  4. 4 Saved and logged Written to Paylocity under a named person.
  • Prepare a punch correction on a timesheet

The supervisor confirms; corrections in a closed pay period need payroll approval.

  • Move an employee to a new cost center

Both cost center owners and HR approve before the change takes effect.

  • Request a one-time bonus earning

Bonus earnings need a payroll manager and the department head to approve.

Example rules. During the pilot you set the limits, the approvers and which roles may prepare each change.

Why it needs care

Governance built for Paylocity

Paylocity joins time, pay and benefits, so a punch fix or cost center move flows straight into paychecks and labor reports. Supervisors work only on their own shifts. The preview shows how an edit changes hours or labor cost before it is saved, and pay or cost center moves wait for a second approver. Wage questions months later can be traced to a named request.

  • Sign-in by work email

Only people you invite, with a one-time code. No shared logins.

  • Roles per tool

Each role reaches only the Paylocity records it needs.

  • View only, if you prefer

Admins can keep a connection to lookups with one switch.

  • A preview first

Every change is shown in full before anything is saved.

  • Approval rules

Above your limits, a second person approves the change.

  • One audit log

Every request tied to a named person, ready for review.

Paylocity questions

Can supervisors fix punches in Paylocity through the assistant?

They can prepare the fix. The supervisor reviews the corrected punch in a preview and confirms, and anything in a pay period that has already closed goes to payroll for approval first.

Does it support several Paylocity companies?

Yes. Roles can limit payroll staff and HR to the companies they handle, and answers that span companies name each one so totals and tax figures are never mixed by mistake.

Can employees ask about their own pay statements?

Yes, if you allow it. Each employee only reaches their own pay statements, deductions and time off balance, so the assistant can explain a change without showing other people's pay.

Does mcpbizapps keep a copy of our Paylocity data?

No. When someone asks a question, mcpbizapps reads the answer live from Paylocity through a dedicated integration user and returns it without storing it. The audit log records who asked, which tool ran and the result, with personal fields and free text removed.

Paylocity is a trademark of its owner. mcpbizapps is not affiliated with Paylocity; the name describes the connection only.
