AI assistants for payroll software
Payroll teams spend the days before each pay date answering the same questions: why did this paycheck change, who has missing time, which deductions start this period. An AI assistant connected through mcpbizapps answers from live payroll records, limited by role. It can prepare a correction or an off-cycle request for review, but people run payroll. Every pay change needs a second approver and every request carries a name.

Use cases
What teams use it for
-
Pre-payroll checks
Before a pay run, payroll staff ask which employees have missing hours, new hires without direct deposit, or large changes in gross pay compared with the last period.
-
Paycheck questions from employees
Employees ask why their net pay changed, and the assistant explains the earnings, taxes and deductions on their own pay statement without a ticket to payroll.
-
Labor cost reporting
Finance asks for gross wages, employer taxes and overtime by department or location for a period, without waiting for a payroll register export.
-
Corrections and off-cycle requests
Payroll specialists prepare a missed bonus or a corrected rate as a request, which a second approver reviews before the payroll team processes it.

What to control in Payroll
Payroll is where personal data and money meet: salaries, bank accounts, tax forms, garnishments and benefit deductions. A wrong change pays someone the wrong amount, and an exposed pay statement breaks trust at once. mcpbizapps limits each person to their own pay or the groups they process, shows every correction as a preview, requires a second approver for any pay rate, bank or off-cycle change, and never submits a payroll run. The audit log names who viewed or prepared each item.

Payroll questions
Can an AI assistant run payroll?
No. With mcpbizapps the assistant answers questions and prepares corrections or requests for review. Submitting and approving a payroll run stays with your payroll team in the payroll system, under the controls you already use there.
Can employees ask about their own paychecks?
Yes, if you allow it. Each employee is limited to their own pay statements, deductions and tax forms, so the assistant can explain a change in net pay without showing anyone else's figures.
Who approves a pay rate or bank account change?
You decide, and it is never only the person who asked. A typical rule sends pay rate changes to an HR or payroll manager and bank detail changes to a second payroll approver, each step recorded in the audit log.
