Contentful for Claude, ChatGPT and Copilot

Content and marketing teams can ask Claude, ChatGPT or Copilot which Contentful landing page entries are still drafts, which blog posts lack a German locale and where an old plan price still appears. Spaces and environments follow each person's role, and new entries stay in draft for an editor to publish. Many teams begin the guided pilot in a staging environment.

Ask in a sentence

What can your team ask Contentful?

Questions from content editor, content operations manager, product marketing manager and others, answered from live Contentful data and only for the people allowed to see them.

Records it works with

  • Entries
  • Content types
  • Assets
  • Spaces
  • Environments
  • Locales
  • Content editor

“Which Landing Page entries for the November campaign are still in draft?”

  • Content operations manager

“Which Blog Post entries have no German locale yet?”

  • Product marketing manager

“Find every entry that still mentions the old Starter plan price of $29.”

  • Frontend developer

“Which fields does the Product Card content type have, and which are required?”

  • Localization manager

“How many entries changed in English since their French versions were last updated?”

  • Brand manager

“Which assets in the Marketing space have no description for alt text?”

Changes, governed

What the assistant can prepare in Contentful

The assistant never saves on its own. It prepares the change, the person checks the preview and confirms, and anything above your limits waits for an approver.

  1. 1 Prepare The assistant drafts the change from the request.
  2. 2 Preview and confirm The person sees exactly what will change.
  3. 3 Approve Above your limits, a second person decides.
  4. 4 Saved and logged Written to Contentful under a named person.
  • Create a draft entry from a campaign brief

The entry stays in draft, and publishing remains with an editor through your normal review.

  • Update a field across several draft entries

Edits that reach more than twenty entries in one step need the content lead to approve.

  • Add titles and descriptions to assets that lack them

The person confirms each description, and assets already on published entries need an editor to approve.

Example rules. During the pilot you set the limits, the approvers and which roles may prepare each change.

Why it needs care

Governance built for Contentful

An edit to a published Contentful entry can reach your website within minutes. That is why the assistant never publishes. It works in drafts, shows each field change first, and sends edits to more than twenty entries to the content lead. Descriptions on assets already in use need an editor, and every change is traceable to a person.

  • Sign-in by work email

Only people you invite, with a one-time code. No shared logins.

  • Roles per tool

Each role reaches only the Contentful records it needs.

  • View only, if you prefer

Admins can keep a connection to lookups with one switch.

  • A preview first

Every change is shown in full before anything is saved.

  • Approval rules

Above your limits, a second person approves the change.

  • One audit log

Every request tied to a named person, ready for review.

Contentful questions

Can the assistant work in a Contentful staging environment?

Yes. During the pilot we choose which environments are in scope, and many teams start with a staging environment before including the main one. Roles can limit a person to particular environments.

Does it understand our content model?

Yes. It reads your content types and their fields, including references between entries, so questions use the names your team chose, such as Landing Page or Product Card, rather than generic labels.

Can it publish or unpublish entries?

No. Publishing and unpublishing stay with your editors. The assistant creates and updates drafts, which an editor reviews and publishes in Contentful as usual, with the same checks as any other draft.

Does mcpbizapps keep a copy of our Contentful data?

No. When someone asks a question, mcpbizapps reads the answer live from Contentful through a dedicated integration user and returns it without storing it. The audit log records who asked, which tool ran and the result, with personal fields and free text removed.

Contentful is a trademark of its owner. mcpbizapps is not affiliated with Contentful; the name describes the connection only.
