Recurly for Claude, ChatGPT and Copilot

Subscriber questions in Recurly tend to repeat: is this account past due, which add-ons does it have, was the last refund processed, is the subscription paused? Support and subscription teams can ask Claude, ChatGPT or Copilot, along with coupon redemptions and where an invoice sits in a dunning campaign. Agents look up, while refunds need two people. Running several Recurly sites? The guided pilot connects them one at a time.

Ask in a sentence

What can your team ask Recurly?

Questions from member support agent, subscription marketing manager, finance analyst and others, answered from live Recurly data and only for the people allowed to see them.

Records it works with

  • Accounts
  • Subscriptions
  • Plans
  • Add-ons
  • Invoices
  • Transactions
  • Coupons
  • Dunning campaigns
  • Member support agent

“Why did this subscriber’s renewal fail, and when is the next retry in the dunning campaign?”

  • Subscription marketing manager

“How many subscribers redeemed the HOLIDAY3 coupon, and how many renewed at full price?”

  • Finance analyst

“What did we refund last month, split by plan and refund reason?”

  • Retention lead

“How many subscriptions are paused right now, and when do most resume?”

  • Payments manager

  • Head of subscriptions

“Which plans had the most cancellations in the first 30 days?”

Changes, governed

What the assistant can prepare in Recurly

The assistant never saves on its own. It prepares the change, the person checks the preview and confirms, and anything above your limits waits for an approver.

  1. 1 Prepare The assistant drafts the change from the request.
  2. 2 Preview and confirm The person sees exactly what will change.
  3. 3 Approve Above your limits, a second person decides.
  4. 4 Saved and logged Written to Recurly under a named person.
  • Pause a subscription for one or two billing cycles

Two people sign off on any refund, and over $100 the payments manager must be one of them.

  • Refund the last invoice on an account

Every refund needs a second approver; above $100 the payments manager approves.

  • Move a subscriber to a cheaper plan at renewal

The person confirms after checking the new price and renewal date in the preview.

Example rules. During the pilot you set the limits, the approvers and which roles may prepare each change.

Why it needs care

Governance built for Recurly

Recurly holds payment history for thousands of individual subscribers, so a careless bulk change reaches many people at once. Agents can view accounts but not refund them. A plan change shows the new price and next bill in its preview, and the agent sees what the subscriber will see.

  • Sign-in by work email

Only people you invite, with a one-time code. No shared logins.

  • Roles per tool

Each role reaches only the Recurly records it needs.

  • View only, if you prefer

Admins can keep a connection to lookups with one switch.

  • A preview first

Every change is shown in full before anything is saved.

  • Approval rules

Above your limits, a second person approves the change.

  • One audit log

Every request tied to a named person, ready for review.

Recurly questions

Can agents help a subscriber without seeing card details?

Yes. Agents see the account, subscription and invoice status they need, and payment details stay in Recurly. Roles decide whether an agent can prepare pauses, plan changes or refunds at all.

Can it report on dunning campaign results?

Yes. Teams can ask how many invoices recovered at each step of a dunning campaign and how much revenue was saved, which helps when tuning retry timing and reminder emails.

Does it work with several Recurly sites?

Yes, if you run separate sites for brands or regions. Each site is connected on its own, roles decide who reaches which site, and every answer names the site it came from.

Does mcpbizapps keep a copy of our Recurly data?

No. When someone asks a question, mcpbizapps reads the answer live from Recurly through a dedicated integration user and returns it without storing it. The audit log records who asked, which tool ran and the result, with personal fields and free text removed.

Recurly is a trademark of its owner. mcpbizapps is not affiliated with Recurly; the name describes the connection only.
