ShipStation for Claude, ChatGPT and Copilot

A shipping lead on ShipStation keeps checking which orders await shipment by store, what each label cost on each carrier and which shipments have had no tracking scan for two days. mcpbizapps lets Claude, ChatGPT or Copilot answer that, and show where postage spend is climbing. Each person sees only their own stores. Your fulfillment team helps shape a guided pilot around the stores, carriers and tags you already have.

Ask in a sentence

What can your team ask ShipStation?

“How many orders are awaiting shipment from the Etsy store, and which are older than three days?”

  • Ecommerce manager

“What did we spend on UPS Ground labels last month compared with USPS Ground Advantage?”

Changes, governed

What the assistant can prepare in ShipStation

The assistant never saves on its own. It prepares the change, the person checks the preview and confirms, and anything above your limits waits for an approver.

  1. 1 Prepare The assistant drafts the change from the request.
  2. 2 Preview and confirm The person sees exactly what will change.
  3. 3 Approve Above your limits, a second person decides.
  4. 4 Saved and logged Written to ShipStation under a named person.
  • Void an unused label and request the postage refund

Voids on labels above $40 or older than 10 days need the shipping lead to approve.

  • Put an order on hold with a reason tag

Ordinary holds are set by the shipping clerk with a reason tag; holds on wholesale orders also notify the account manager.

  • Prepare a label for a replacement shipment

Replacement labels above $25 in postage need customer service lead approval.

Example rules. During the pilot you set the limits, the approvers and which roles may prepare each change.

Why it needs care

Governance built for ShipStation

ShipStation holds customer addresses and spends real postage on every label. Replacement labels above $25 go to a customer service lead, and voids on labels over $40 or older than 10 days go to the shipping lead. Store teams only see their own orders. When a carrier invoice does not match, you can look up who requested each label.

  • Sign-in by work email

Only people you invite, with a one-time code. No shared logins.

  • Roles per tool

Each role reaches only the ShipStation records it needs.

  • View only, if you prefer

Admins can keep a connection to lookups with one switch.

  • A preview first

Every change is shown in full before anything is saved.

  • Approval rules

Above your limits, a second person approves the change.

  • One audit log

Every request tied to a named person, ready for review.

ShipStation questions

Can the assistant buy shipping labels in ShipStation?

It drafts the label with carrier, service and rate visible before anything is bought. Postage under your limit is bought when the shipper agrees; pricier labels wait for an approver. Admins can also keep the connection view only, so no labels are bought at all.

Does it see orders from all our connected stores?

Only the stores a person's role allows. A marketplace team can be limited to Amazon and eBay orders while the brand team sees the Shopify store, even though all of them live in one ShipStation account.

Does mcpbizapps keep a copy of our ShipStation data?

No. When someone asks a question, mcpbizapps reads the answer live from ShipStation through a dedicated integration user and returns it without storing it. The audit log records who asked, which tool ran and the result, with personal fields and free text removed.

ShipStation is a trademark of its owner. mcpbizapps is not affiliated with ShipStation; the name describes the connection only.
