Shopify for Claude, ChatGPT and Copilot

Most Shopify support tickets come down to a few lookups: is the order fulfilled, which location ships it, what has this customer bought before. mcpbizapps lets Claude, ChatGPT or Copilot answer those, and tell merchandisers how a discount code did or which variants are close to selling out. We begin with a guided pilot built on the order and inventory questions your support desk hears most.

Ask in a sentence

What can your team ask Shopify?

Questions from customer support agent, store manager, merchandiser and others, answered from live Shopify data and only for the people allowed to see them.

Records it works with

  • Orders
  • Fulfillments
  • Products
  • Inventory
  • Discount codes
  • Customers
  • Draft orders
  • Refunds
  • Customer support agent

“Where is order #48213 for Dana Whitlock, and has any part of it been refunded?”

  • Store manager

“Which orders from last weekend are still unfulfilled at the Portland location?”

  • Merchandiser

“How many orders used the code SPRINGWOOL15, and what was the average order value?”

  • Inventory planner

“Which variants of the merino crew sweater have fewer than 10 units across all locations?”

  • Ecommerce manager

“Compare online store sales with point of sale sales for October.”

  • Wholesale manager

“Which draft orders for wholesale accounts have been sent but not paid?”

Changes, governed

What the assistant can prepare in Shopify

The assistant never saves on its own. It prepares the change, the person checks the preview and confirms, and anything above your limits waits for an approver.

  1. 1 Prepare The assistant drafts the change from the request.
  2. 2 Preview and confirm The person sees exactly what will change.
  3. 3 Approve Above your limits, a second person decides.
  4. 4 Saved and logged Written to Shopify under a named person.
  • Refund an order in part or in full

Refunds above $150 or on orders older than 60 days need a support lead to approve.

  • Create a discount code for a customer service recovery

Codes worth more than 20% or $50 need the ecommerce manager to approve.

  • Create a draft order for a wholesale buyer

Draft orders above $5,000 or with custom pricing need the wholesale manager to approve.

  • Adjust inventory for a variant at one location

Small counts are fixed by the store associate after checking the preview; anything over 50 units goes to the inventory planner.

Example rules. During the pilot you set the limits, the approvers and which roles may prepare each change.

Why it needs care

Governance built for Shopify

A refund or a discount sent by mistake costs a Shopify store money the same day, and customer addresses sit right next to the order. Support, merchandising and wholesale each get their own tools. Refunds above $150 go to a support lead, and codes worth over 20% wait for the ecommerce manager. You can always trace a change back to the agent who asked for it.

  • Sign-in by work email

Only people you invite, with a one-time code. No shared logins.

  • Roles per tool

Each role reaches only the Shopify records it needs.

  • View only, if you prefer

Admins can keep a connection to lookups with one switch.

  • A preview first

Every change is shown in full before anything is saved.

  • Approval rules

Above your limits, a second person approves the change.

  • One audit log

Every request tied to a named person, ready for review.

Shopify questions

Can ChatGPT or Claude refund Shopify orders?

Through mcpbizapps, it prepares the refund with line items, amount and restock choice shown in a preview. The agent confirms, and anything above your refund limit waits for a lead before Shopify processes it.

Does it work with Shopify Plus and several stores?

Yes. Each store is its own connection, and roles decide who can use which. Answers name the store, so a team that runs regional storefronts never mixes one country's orders with another.

Can it report on discount code results?

Yes. Ask how a code performed and the answer gives orders, sales, average order value and the top products bought with it, read from Shopify when you ask rather than from an old export.

Does mcpbizapps keep a copy of our Shopify data?

No. When someone asks a question, mcpbizapps reads the answer live from Shopify through a dedicated integration user and returns it without storing it. The audit log records who asked, which tool ran and the result, with personal fields and free text removed.

Shopify is a trademark of its owner. mcpbizapps is not affiliated with Shopify; the name describes the connection only.
