Sigma for Claude, ChatGPT and Copilot

Sigma runs every query live in your warehouse, so questions asked in Claude, ChatGPT or Copilot get current answers from the data models your analysts publish and the elements in shared workbooks. User attributes and row-level rules keep each person to their own rows. Requests are logged by name. Setup happens in a guided pilot, beginning with a few published data models.

Ask in a sentence

What can your team ask Sigma?

Questions from revenue operations manager, finance analyst, analytics engineer and others, answered from live Sigma data and only for the people allowed to see them.

Records it works with

  • Workbooks
  • Data models
  • Pages
  • Elements
  • Input tables
  • Connections
  • Scheduled exports
  • Revenue operations manager

“From the Bookings data model, what were new bookings by segment for each of the last four quarters?”

  • Finance analyst

“Which entries in the Budget Adjustments input table were added this week, and by whom?”

  • Analytics engineer

“Which workbooks are built on the Customers data model, and who owns each one?”

  • Head of operations

“What does the Daily Operations workbook show for average handle time by team yesterday?”

  • Customer success director

“Which accounts on the Health Scores page fell below 60 this month?”

  • Sigma admin

“Which scheduled exports failed in the last week, and who set them up?”

Changes, governed

What the assistant can prepare in Sigma

The assistant never saves on its own. It prepares the change, the person checks the preview and confirms, and anything above your limits waits for an approver.

  1. 1 Prepare The assistant drafts the change from the request.
  2. 2 Preview and confirm The person sees exactly what will change.
  3. 3 Approve Above your limits, a second person decides.
  4. 4 Saved and logged Written to Sigma under a named person.
  • Schedule a workbook export to a team inbox each Friday

Large exports over 10,000 rows, or any sent to outside addresses, need the Sigma admin.

  • Share a workbook with a new team

The workbook owner approves; pages built on finance data models also need the finance data lead.

  • Change the schedule of a recurring export

The export owner confirms the new time in the preview before it is saved.

Example rules. During the pilot you set the limits, the approvers and which roles may prepare each change.

Why it needs care

Governance built for Sigma

Sigma queries the warehouse live, so whatever Sigma can reach, a careless question could reach too. Assistants stay on the published data models and shared workbooks chosen for each role. User attributes set row limits, and exports are held for review before anything is sent. If a figure is questioned later, the query behind it carries the asker's name.

  • Sign-in by work email

Only people you invite, with a one-time code. No shared logins.

  • Roles per tool

Each role reaches only the Sigma records it needs.

  • View only, if you prefer

Admins can keep a connection to lookups with one switch.

  • A preview first

Every change is shown in full before anything is saved.

  • Approval rules

Above your limits, a second person approves the change.

  • One audit log

Every request tied to a named person, ready for review.

How Sigma gets connected

We connect Sigma for your team in a guided pilot, on the same gateway every app uses. No code on your side.

  1. 01

    Agree the questions

We list the Sigma questions and changes your team needs, and who may use each.

  2. 02

    Connect with your admin

Your Sigma administrator creates a dedicated integration user with only that access.

  3. 03

    Test with your people

A small group tries it in Claude, ChatGPT or Copilot while we tune the tools.

  4. 04

    Roll out with rules

Roles, approval limits and the audit log are in place before everyone joins.

Sigma questions

Does Sigma copy our data for the assistant?

No. Sigma queries your warehouse at the moment of the question and mcpbizapps does not store the results. The answer reflects the latest data in Snowflake, BigQuery, Databricks or Redshift, within the access your Sigma users already have.

Can an assistant fill in Sigma input tables?

We keep entries in input tables with the people who own the plan or forecast. Assistants can read input tables and summarize recent entries for the roles allowed to see them, which helps reviewers spot unusual adjustments quickly.

How do row limits work in Sigma?

Sigma user attributes and row-level rules on data models keep working, because questions run as a Sigma user mapped to the person's role. mcpbizapps adds its own limits on which data models and workbooks each role may use.

Does mcpbizapps keep a copy of our Sigma data?

No. When someone asks a question, mcpbizapps reads the answer live from Sigma through a dedicated integration user and returns it without storing it. The audit log records who asked, which tool ran and the result, with personal fields and free text removed.

Sigma is a trademark of its owner. mcpbizapps is not affiliated with Sigma Computing; the name describes the connection only.
