AI assistants for BI and data governance
AI assistants can answer questions from the dashboards, semantic models and catalogs your team already maintains, so people get the agreed number instead of a fresh guess. mcpbizapps sends questions through approved models and Explores, keeps row-level security for each person, routes glossary and catalog edits to stewards and logs every request. The result is quick answers that match the reports leaders already trust.
Every app is available

Use cases
What teams use it for
-
Answers from approved metrics
People ask for revenue, margin or churn and the assistant uses the measures defined in your semantic models, LookML or metric layer, so the chat answer matches the dashboard.
-
Finding the right data and its owner
Analysts ask the catalog which table or data product to use, what a business term means and who stewards it, before they build anything new.
-
Refresh and job health checks
BI developers and analytics engineers ask which extract refreshes, reloads or dbt jobs failed, what they left stale and who owns the fix.
-
Glossary and catalog upkeep
Stewards receive drafted terms, descriptions and warnings from assistants as previews, and approve them in the same workflow they use today.
Real questions
Questions people ask in BI and data governance apps
A sample from the app pages. Each answer comes live from the app, for the people allowed to see it.
- “From the Sales Pipeline published data source, what is open pipeline for my team by stage this quarter?”
- “What does the Sales Performance report show for win rate by region this quarter?”
- “Which dashboards in the Shared folder show errors in the content validator?”
- “Using the Net Sales master measure, compare September with the same month last year by country.”
- “Which accounts on the Health Scores page fell below 60 this month?”
- “Compare returns rate by channel for the last 13 weeks, from the Retail Model.”
- “What is the approved definition of Net Revenue in the business glossary, and who is its steward?”
- “Which columns in the Sales data source still have no description?”
- “Which assets in the Finance domain have no owner or no description?”
Governance
What to control in BI and data governance
BI tools and catalogs look harmless, but they sit on top of every sensitive table in the company. The risks are an assistant that skips row-level security, answers from a raw table instead of an approved metric, or quietly edits a definition the business relies on. mcpbizapps sends questions through the models and Explores each role may use, keeps row-level rules and sensitivity labels in force, routes every glossary or catalog edit to a steward, and records each query and change against a named person.

BI and data governance questions
Will the assistant use our metric definitions or invent its own?
It uses yours. Questions go through the semantic models, LookML, master items or metrics you approve, so the definition of revenue comes from your BI layer. If no approved metric fits, the assistant says so instead of guessing.
Does row-level security in our BI tool still apply?
Yes. During the pilot we map each mcpbizapps role to the matching users or groups in the BI tool, so its row-level rules apply to every question. We test with named people in each role before a wider rollout.
Can assistants change our business glossary?
They can draft changes. A new term or edited definition appears as a preview, the person confirms, and it then follows your catalog's approval workflow. Stewards keep the final say, and each proposal carries the name of whoever made it.
