Collibra for Claude, ChatGPT and Copilot
Collibra settles the questions people argue about: what a term means in the business glossary, who stewards a data set, where a report column comes from and which data quality rules failed. With mcpbizapps, those answers reach Claude, ChatGPT or Copilot. Each person sees the communities and domains their role allows, and glossary changes go through your Collibra workflows. A guided pilot sets up the connection with your governance lead.

Changes, governed
What the assistant can prepare in Collibra
The assistant never saves on its own. It prepares the change, the person checks the preview and confirms, and anything above your limits waits for an approver.
- 1 Prepare The assistant drafts the change from the request.
- 2 Preview and confirm The person sees exactly what will change.
- 3 Approve Above your limits, a second person decides.
- 4 Saved and logged Written to Collibra under a named person.
-
Propose a new business term in the glossary
The proposal starts your Collibra approval workflow, and the domain steward decides whether it is accepted.
-
Suggest an edit to a term definition
Edits go to the term's steward; terms used in financial reporting also need the finance data owner.
-
Assign a steward to an unowned data asset
The governance lead approves the assignment before it is saved in Collibra.
Example rules. During the pilot you set the limits, the approvers and which roles may prepare each change.
Why it needs care
Governance built for Collibra
Collibra decides what words like revenue and active customer mean, so a careless edit can change how the whole company reads its numbers. Assistants read the glossary and lineage by role but cannot change a term on their own. Every proposal enters your existing Collibra workflow, and the record shows who asked for the change and which steward accepted it.

Collibra questions
Can Claude add terms to the Collibra business glossary?
It can propose them. The assistant drafts the term, definition and domain, the person reviews the preview, and the proposal starts your normal Collibra workflow. The steward approves or rejects it in Collibra as usual.
Can assistants use Collibra definitions when answering data questions?
Yes. When Collibra and a warehouse are both connected, the assistant can look up a term first and then query the approved view it points to, so the answer uses the definition your stewards agreed.
Does it respect Collibra responsibilities and permissions?
Yes. The integration user can read only the communities you approve, and mcpbizapps roles narrow that further. Sensitive domains, such as HR or privacy, can be left out of the connection entirely.
Does mcpbizapps keep a copy of our Collibra data?
No. When someone asks a question, mcpbizapps reads the answer live from Collibra through a dedicated integration user and returns it without storing it. The audit log records who asked, which tool ran and the result, with personal fields and free text removed.
Collibra is a trademark of its owner. mcpbizapps is not affiliated with Collibra; the name describes the connection only.
