Slack for Claude, ChatGPT and Copilot
People can ask Claude, ChatGPT or Copilot what was decided in a busy Slack channel, which escalation threads have no reply and where a discussion about a customer happened. Channels follow each role, and messages or canvases are drafted for the person to confirm. Direct messages are usually left out when the guided pilot sets scope.

Changes, governed
What the assistant can prepare in Slack
The assistant never saves on its own. It prepares the change, the person checks the preview and confirms, and anything above your limits waits for an approver.
- 1 Prepare The assistant drafts the change from the request.
- 2 Preview and confirm The person sees exactly what will change.
- 3 Approve Above your limits, a second person decides.
- 4 Saved and logged Written to Slack under a named person.
-
Post a summary message in a channel
The person confirms the text; channels with more than 200 members need a channel manager to approve.
-
Draft a canvas from a long thread
The canvas is created for the person to review before it is shared in a channel.
-
Add follow-up items to a Slack list
The person confirms the items, and assigning them to other people needs their team lead to approve.
Example rules. During the pilot you set the limits, the approvers and which roles may prepare each change.
Why it needs care
Governance built for Slack
Slack holds the candid version of company life, from private channels to customer conversations in shared ones. A person only searches channels they belong to. Posts to channels over 200 members need a channel manager, and assigning list items to others needs their team lead. Workspace admins can see who searched for what.

Slack questions
Can the assistant read direct messages in Slack?
Not unless you decide to include them, and most companies do not. During the pilot we choose which public and private channels are in scope, and roles decide which of those each person may search.
Will it post in Slack Connect channels shared with other companies?
Not in the suggested scope. Those channels include people outside your company, so the assistant can read them for the people allowed, while posting there stays with your own staff members.
Can it answer questions from inside Slack itself?
People ask in their AI client, such as Claude, ChatGPT or Copilot, and the assistant reads Slack through mcpbizapps. That keeps every question under the same roles and audit log as your other connected apps.
Does mcpbizapps keep a copy of our Slack data?
No. When someone asks a question, mcpbizapps reads the answer live from Slack through a dedicated integration user and returns it without storing it. The audit log records who asked, which tool ran and the result, with personal fields and free text removed.
Slack is a trademark of its owner. mcpbizapps is not affiliated with Salesforce; the name describes the connection only.
