Toast for Claude, ChatGPT and Copilot

A restaurant GM wants to know how tonight compares with last Thursday, which items are 86'd and who applied that $60 discount. mcpbizapps puts those Toast questions to Claude, ChatGPT or Copilot, and each manager only reaches their own locations. Rollout is a guided pilot with your operations lead that keeps your menus and revenue centers exactly as they are.

Changes, governed

What the assistant can prepare in Toast

The assistant never saves on its own. It prepares the change, the person checks the preview and confirms, and anything above your limits waits for an approver.

  1. 1 Prepare The assistant drafts the change from the request.
  2. 2 Preview and confirm The person sees exactly what will change.
  3. 3 Approve Above your limits, a second person decides.
  4. 4 Saved and logged Written to Toast under a named person.
  • Mark a menu item out of stock at one location

The manager on duty confirms which location and item before it is marked 86.

  • Update a menu item price

Price changes above 10% or across all locations need the director of operations.

  • Prepare a comp or discount on a guest check

Comps above $50 need the general manager to approve.

Example rules. During the pilot you set the limits, the approvers and which roles may prepare each change.

Why it needs care

Governance built for Toast

Voids and comps are where restaurant losses tend to hide, and Toast also holds staff hours and menu pricing for every shift. A comp over $50 waits for the general manager. A price move across every location goes to the director of operations. Each request carries the name of the manager who made it, so a void review starts from facts.

  • Sign-in by work email

Only people you invite, with a one-time code. No shared logins.

  • Roles per tool

Each role reaches only the Toast records it needs.

  • View only, if you prefer

Admins can keep a connection to lookups with one switch.

  • A preview first

Every change is shown in full before anything is saved.

  • Approval rules

Above your limits, a second person approves the change.

  • One audit log

Every request tied to a named person, ready for review.

Toast questions

Can the assistant change Toast menus?

It can prepare simple changes, such as an item price or marking an item out of stock. The manager confirms the preview, and changes across all locations need your operations lead before Toast publishes them.

Can it help with labor questions in Toast?

Yes. Ask who is clocked in, which shifts went into overtime or how labor compares with sales. Pay rates and personal details can be limited to the managers and payroll staff who need them.

Does mcpbizapps keep a copy of our Toast data?

No. When someone asks a question, mcpbizapps reads the answer live from Toast through a dedicated integration user and returns it without storing it. The audit log records who asked, which tool ran and the result, with personal fields and free text removed.

Toast is a trademark of its owner. mcpbizapps is not affiliated with Toast; the name describes the connection only.
