Trovata for Claude, ChatGPT and Copilot

Finance teams on Trovata can ask Claude, ChatGPT or Copilot what sat in each connected bank at yesterday’s close, how much went out under the payroll tag, how the cash forecast is tracking and where cash moved this week. People only see the entities and accounts they work on. Edits to tags or forecasts appear as a preview, and bigger ones wait for an approver. Your controller helps shape the guided pilot that connects Trovata.

Ask in a sentence

What can your team ask Trovata?

Questions from controller, finance manager, CFO and others, answered from live Trovata data and only for the people allowed to see them.

Records it works with

  • Bank accounts
  • Balances
  • Transactions
  • Tags
  • Cash forecasts
  • Reports
  • Controller

“What were total balances across all banks at yesterday’s close, by entity?”

  • Finance manager

“How much did we spend on transactions tagged payroll in the last three months?”

  • CFO

“How does this quarter’s cash forecast compare with actual cash so far?”

  • Staff accountant

“Which transactions over $5,000 from last week have no tag yet?”

  • VP of finance

“Which customers sent the largest incoming wires this month?”

  • FP&A manager

“What is our average monthly net burn over the last six months, from bank data?”

Changes, governed

What the assistant can prepare in Trovata

The assistant never saves on its own. It prepares the change, the person checks the preview and confirms, and anything above your limits waits for an approver.

  1. 1 Prepare The assistant drafts the change from the request.
  2. 2 Preview and confirm The person sees exactly what will change.
  3. 3 Approve Above your limits, a second person decides.
  4. 4 Saved and logged Written to Trovata under a named person.
  • Add or change a tag rule for recurring transactions

The controller approves tag rule changes, since they reshape past reports.

  • Create a forecast scenario with slower collections

The person confirms; scenarios stay separate from the main forecast until the CFO adopts them.

  • Tag a group of untagged transactions

Tagging labels transactions that already exist, so the staff accountant can confirm it alone.

Example rules. During the pilot you set the limits, the approvers and which roles may prepare each change.

Why it needs care

Governance built for Trovata

Bank data in Trovata is detailed enough to reveal salaries, what each customer paid and which suppliers you rely on, so access is set per entity and account. A tag rule can quietly rewrite past reports. Before one changes, the preview lists the transactions it would touch, and the controller has to agree.

  • Sign-in by work email

Only people you invite, with a one-time code. No shared logins.

  • Roles per tool

Each role reaches only the Trovata records it needs.

  • View only, if you prefer

Admins can keep a connection to lookups with one switch.

  • A preview first

Every change is shown in full before anything is saved.

  • Approval rules

Above your limits, a second person approves the change.

  • One audit log

Every request tied to a named person, ready for review.

How Trovata gets connected

We connect Trovata for your team in a guided pilot, on the same gateway every app uses. No code on your side.

  1. 01

    Agree the questions

We list the Trovata questions and changes your team needs, and who may use each.

  2. 02

    Connect with your admin

Your Trovata administrator creates a dedicated integration user with only that access.

  3. 03

    Test with your people

A small group tries it in Claude, ChatGPT or Copilot while we tune the tools.

  4. 04

    Roll out with rules

Roles, approval limits and the audit log are in place before everyone joins.

Trovata questions

Can the assistant answer questions across all our banks?

Yes. Trovata already brings balances and transactions from connected banks together, so people can ask one question across them, filtered by bank, entity, account or tag, depending on their role.

Can it help with month-end close?

Yes. Accountants can ask for transactions by tag or account for the period, find untagged items and check ending balances, which speeds up bank reconciliation in the ledger at each month end.

Can it send payments from Trovata?

Payments are outside the starting scope. Should you add them later, no payment would go out on one person’s say: a second approver signs off, after a preview showing payee, account and amount.

Does mcpbizapps keep a copy of our Trovata data?

No. When someone asks a question, mcpbizapps reads the answer live from Trovata through a dedicated integration user and returns it without storing it. The audit log records who asked, which tool ran and the result, with personal fields and free text removed.

Trovata is a trademark of its owner. mcpbizapps is not affiliated with Trovata; the name describes the connection only.
