Zip for Claude, ChatGPT and Copilot
Employees often ask the same thing about a Zip request: which step it has reached and who is holding it. Claude, ChatGPT or Copilot can answer, including whether security or legal review is the hold, how much budget remains before approval and which vendor renewals start soon. New requests are previewed before they enter intake. We map your intake workflow in a guided pilot before connecting Zip.

Changes, governed
What the assistant can prepare in Zip
The assistant never saves on its own. It prepares the change, the person checks the preview and confirms, and anything above your limits waits for an approver.
- 1 Prepare The assistant drafts the change from the request.
- 2 Preview and confirm The person sees exactly what will change.
- 3 Approve Above your limits, a second person decides.
- 4 Saved and logged Written to Zip under a named person.
-
Start a purchase request from a vendor quote and a short description
The requester confirms the intake answers; your Zip workflow then routes reviews.
-
Add a comment for the reviewer on an open request
The commenter checks the wording in the preview, and no approver is involved.
-
Prepare a renewal request with a target price
Renewals above $50,000 need the procurement lead before they enter review.
Example rules. During the pilot you set the limits, the approvers and which roles may prepare each change.
Why it needs care
Governance built for Zip
Zip holds purchase plans, contract terms, security findings and the bank details vendors give at onboarding. Payment details are the soft spot, since a changed account number can send money to a fraudster. Those changes are blocked or held for finance to verify directly with the vendor, and large renewals need the procurement lead.

Zip questions
Does the assistant replace the Zip intake form?
No. It helps people fill it in. The assistant drafts the intake answers from what the person describes, shows them as a preview, and the request enters your normal Zip workflow once confirmed.
Can reviewers see their queue from the assistant?
Yes. Security, legal, IT and finance reviewers can ask what is waiting for them and get a short summary of each request, while their decisions still follow your Zip workflow.
Can it see vendor bank details?
Not unless a role allows it, and we usually keep vendor banking out of scope. Requests that would change payment details are blocked or held for finance to verify with the vendor directly.
Does mcpbizapps keep a copy of our Zip data?
No. When someone asks a question, mcpbizapps reads the answer live from Zip through a dedicated integration user and returns it without storing it. The audit log records who asked, which tool ran and the result, with personal fields and free text removed.
Zip is a trademark of its owner. mcpbizapps is not affiliated with Zip; the name describes the connection only.
