Adyen for Claude, ChatGPT and Copilot

Payments, support and finance teams each need something different from Adyen. With Claude, ChatGPT or Copilot connected, they can ask about a payment by PSP reference, refusal reasons by payment method, chargebacks and their defense deadlines, settlement batches and fees, and payouts by merchant account. Refunds and defenses are previewed, and refunds need a second approver. A guided pilot connects Adyen with your company account, merchant accounts first.

“Which chargebacks on the EU merchant account need defense documents in the next five days?”

Changes, governed

What the assistant can prepare in Adyen

The assistant never saves on its own. It prepares the change, the person checks the preview and confirms, and anything above your limits waits for an approver.

  1. 1 Prepare The assistant drafts the change from the request.
  2. 2 Preview and confirm The person sees exactly what will change.
  3. 3 Approve Above your limits, a second person decides.
  4. 4 Saved and logged Written to Adyen under a named person.
  • Refund a captured payment in full or in part

One person prepares a refund and another approves it; from €1,000 the payments manager approves.

  • Prepare defense documents for a chargeback

The chargeback analyst reviews the documents before they are submitted.

  • Cancel an authorised payment that has not been captured

The operations lead confirms; cancellations above €5,000 need the payments manager.

Example rules. During the pilot you set the limits, the approvers and which roles may prepare each change.

Why it needs care

Governance built for Adyen

Adyen settles money for every channel a merchant runs, so a mistaken refund or cancellation costs real money fast. Staff are limited to their merchant accounts and stores. The preview names the PSP reference and amount, and refunds need a second person, with the payments manager taking the large ones.

  • Sign-in by work email

Only people you invite, with a one-time code. No shared logins.

  • Roles per tool

Each role reaches only the Adyen records it needs.

  • View only, if you prefer

Admins can keep a connection to lookups with one switch.

  • A preview first

Every change is shown in full before anything is saved.

  • Approval rules

Above your limits, a second person approves the change.

  • One audit log

Every request tied to a named person, ready for review.

Adyen questions

Can the assistant look up payments by PSP reference?

Yes. Support and operations staff can ask about a payment by PSP reference or merchant reference and see its status, events and any refund or chargeback, without searching the Customer Area.

Can it explain settlement batches?

Yes. Finance can ask what a settlement batch contains, including captures, refunds, chargebacks, fees and interchange, and match it to the payout that reached the bank account on that day.

Does it work for Adyen for Platforms?

We confirm your setup during the pilot. For platform models, roles can limit staff to certain account holders or balance accounts, and transfers always need a second approver, with both names logged.

Does mcpbizapps keep a copy of our Adyen data?

No. When someone asks a question, mcpbizapps reads the answer live from Adyen through a dedicated integration user and returns it without storing it. The audit log records who asked, which tool ran and the result, with personal fields and free text removed.

Adyen is a trademark of its owner. mcpbizapps is not affiliated with Adyen; the name describes the connection only.
