Brex for Claude, ChatGPT and Copilot

In Brex, budget owners want to know what is left and who is spending it. Employees want to know which card expenses still need a receipt. Through Claude, ChatGPT or Copilot, both can ask, along with bills due, reimbursements pending and spend by entity or country. Raising a limit or paying out money needs a second approver. Brex entities are added one by one during a guided pilot.

Ask in a sentence

What can your team ask Brex?

Questions from employee, budget owner, accounting manager and others, answered from live Brex data and only for the people allowed to see them.

Records it works with

  • Card expenses
  • Budgets
  • Spend limits
  • Bills
  • Reimbursements
  • Vendors
  • Entities
  • Employee

“How much is left on my travel budget for the Singapore conference?”

  • Budget owner

“Which people on the growth marketing budget spent the most this month?”

  • Accounting manager

“Which card expenses in the UK entity are missing VAT receipts?”

  • AP lead

“Which bills are approved and due in the next five days, and from which account will they pay?”

  • VP of finance

“Compare spend by entity for the US, UK and Germany this quarter.”

  • Travel coordinator

“Which trips booked this month were outside the hotel policy?”

Changes, governed

What the assistant can prepare in Brex

The assistant never saves on its own. It prepares the change, the person checks the preview and confirms, and anything above your limits waits for an approver.

  1. 1 Prepare The assistant drafts the change from the request.
  2. 2 Preview and confirm The person sees exactly what will change.
  3. 3 Approve Above your limits, a second person decides.
  4. 4 Saved and logged Written to Brex under a named person.
  • Raise a spend limit for a team offsite budget

Any increase needs the budget owner and a finance approver.

  • Prepare a vendor bill for payment

Every bill payment needs a second approver; new vendors also need bank details checked by phone.

  • Add a missing receipt and memo to a card expense

Attaching a receipt and memo changes no amount; the cardholder confirms it alone.

Example rules. During the pilot you set the limits, the approvers and which roles may prepare each change.

Why it needs care

Governance built for Brex

Brex runs cards, budgets and payment accounts for every entity on it. Raising a limit is the quiet way money leaks, so any increase needs the budget owner and finance. New vendors get their bank details checked by phone, and no bill or reimbursement is paid on one person’s word.

  • Sign-in by work email

Only people you invite, with a one-time code. No shared logins.

  • Roles per tool

Each role reaches only the Brex records it needs.

  • View only, if you prefer

Admins can keep a connection to lookups with one switch.

  • A preview first

Every change is shown in full before anything is saved.

  • Approval rules

Above your limits, a second person approves the change.

  • One audit log

Every request tied to a named person, ready for review.

How Brex gets connected

We connect Brex for your team in a guided pilot, on the same gateway every app uses. No code on your side.

  1. 01

    Agree the questions

We list the Brex questions and changes your team needs, and who may use each.

  2. 02

    Connect with your admin

Your Brex administrator creates a dedicated integration user with only that access.

  3. 03

    Test with your people

A small group tries it in Claude, ChatGPT or Copilot while we tune the tools.

  4. 04

    Roll out with rules

Roles, approval limits and the audit log are in place before everyone joins.

Brex questions

Does it work with Brex budgets and spend limits?

Yes. People can ask what is left on a budget or spend limit and who is spending against it. Changes to a limit are prepared as a preview and always need two approvals.

Can it handle several Brex entities?

Yes. Roles can follow entities, so a UK finance manager sees UK spend while the group finance team compares all of them. Answers name the entity and currency for every figure.

Can the assistant send payments?

It prepares bill payments and reimbursements, but each one needs a second approver before Brex sends any money. Bank detail changes for vendors stay with finance, who check them outside the assistant.

Does mcpbizapps keep a copy of our Brex data?

No. When someone asks a question, mcpbizapps reads the answer live from Brex through a dedicated integration user and returns it without storing it. The audit log records who asked, which tool ran and the result, with personal fields and free text removed.

Brex is a trademark of its owner. mcpbizapps is not affiliated with Brex; the name describes the connection only.
