Navan for Claude, ChatGPT and Copilot
Travel managers field questions about Navan all day. Travellers, managers and travel teams can now ask Claude, ChatGPT or Copilot about upcoming trips and bookings, which bookings broke policy and why, expenses missing receipts, travel spend against budget and approval requests waiting. Every update is previewed. The updates Navan accepts through the connection are agreed with your travel team during a guided pilot.

Changes, governed
What the assistant can prepare in Navan
The assistant never saves on its own. It prepares the change, the person checks the preview and confirms, and anything above your limits waits for an approver.
- 1 Prepare The assistant drafts the change from the request.
- 2 Preview and confirm The person sees exactly what will change.
- 3 Approve Above your limits, a second person decides.
- 4 Saved and logged Written to Navan under a named person.
-
Record a manager’s decision on an out-of-policy booking
Only the traveller’s own manager can decide, and fares more than 20% above policy also need the travel manager.
-
Add a receipt and purpose to a card expense
A receipt and trip purpose complete the record, and the traveller confirms them.
-
Flag a travel expense for finance review with a note
The note goes to finance for review; the expense approver confirms its wording.
Example rules. During the pilot you set the limits, the approvers and which roles may prepare each change.
Why it needs care
Governance built for Navan
Navan knows who travels where and when, along with loyalty numbers and card spend. For executives that is a security matter. Their trips can be hidden from everyone except their assistants and the travel manager, and out of policy decisions stay with the traveller’s own manager.

Navan questions
Can the assistant book travel in Navan?
No. Booking stays in Navan, where your travel policy and inventory live. The assistant answers trip, expense and policy questions. Any updates, such as expense notes, depend on what your Navan setup allows and are agreed in the pilot.
Can executive travel be kept private?
Yes. Roles can hide trips for named people or groups, so only their assistants and the travel manager can ask about them. Any question about such a trip is recorded against the person who asked.
Does it explain why a booking was out of policy?
Yes. It reads the policy rule that was broken, such as fare class or nightly rate, and shows how far over the booking was, so a manager can decide quickly.
Does mcpbizapps keep a copy of our Navan data?
No. When someone asks a question, mcpbizapps reads the answer live from Navan through a dedicated integration user and returns it without storing it. The audit log records who asked, which tool ran and the result, with personal fields and free text removed.
Navan is a trademark of its owner. mcpbizapps is not affiliated with Navan; the name describes the connection only.
