FieldEdge for Claude, ChatGPT and Copilot

Contractors running FieldEdge can ask Claude, ChatGPT or Copilot which work orders are unassigned on the dispatch board, which service agreements have maintenance visits due, what equipment sits at a customer's address and which invoices are unpaid. mcpbizapps keeps technicians to their own work orders. Overrides above 10% of the flat rate price need the service manager. Your office and one crew can start with a guided pilot.

Records it works with

  • Work orders
  • Customers
  • Service agreements
  • Equipment
  • Estimates
  • Invoices
  • Technicians
  • Dispatcher

“Which work orders on today's dispatch board are unassigned, and which techs are closest by skill?”

  • Service manager

“Which service agreements have a fall maintenance visit due that has not been scheduled?”

  • HVAC technician

“What equipment is listed at the Pruitt residence, and when was the furnace last serviced?”

  • Office manager

“Which invoices from last week are still unpaid and not yet synced to accounting?”

  • Owner

  • Service manager

Changes, governed

What the assistant can prepare in FieldEdge

The assistant never saves on its own. It prepares the change, the person checks the preview and confirms, and anything above your limits waits for an approver.

  1. 1 Prepare The assistant drafts the change from the request.
  2. 2 Preview and confirm The person sees exactly what will change.
  3. 3 Approve Above your limits, a second person decides.
  4. 4 Saved and logged Written to FieldEdge under a named person.
  • Assign a work order to a technician on the dispatch board

Reassigning more than five work orders at once needs the service manager.

  • Override a flat rate pricebook price on an invoice

Price overrides above 10% need the service manager to approve.

  • Renew a group of expiring service agreements

Renewing more than 20 agreements at once needs the owner to approve before customers are billed.

Example rules. During the pilot you set the limits, the approvers and which roles may prepare each change.

Why it needs care

Governance built for FieldEdge

FieldEdge invoices and agreement payments flow into your books, so a price override or a batch of renewals has a real cost. The preview shows the difference from the flat rate price. Renewing more than 20 agreements needs the owner before customers are billed. Technicians stay with their own work orders, and office staff handle billing.

  • Sign-in by work email

Only people you invite, with a one-time code. No shared logins.

  • Roles per tool

Each role reaches only the FieldEdge records it needs.

  • View only, if you prefer

Admins can keep a connection to lookups with one switch.

  • A preview first

Every change is shown in full before anything is saved.

  • Approval rules

Above your limits, a second person approves the change.

  • One audit log

Every request tied to a named person, ready for review.

FieldEdge questions

Can ChatGPT read the FieldEdge dispatch board?

Yes. Dispatchers can ask about unassigned work orders, technician schedules and job status for the day, and get the board as it stands right now. Technicians can be limited to their own work orders.

Does it understand FieldEdge service agreements?

Yes. The assistant can report which agreements are active, expiring or missing their maintenance visits, and prepare renewals or visit bookings as a preview for the office to confirm before any customer is billed.

Can the assistant change pricebook prices?

It can prepare a price override on an estimate or invoice line and show the difference from the flat rate price. Overrides above your limit need a manager, and the pricebook itself stays as it is.

Does mcpbizapps keep a copy of our FieldEdge data?

No. When someone asks a question, mcpbizapps reads the answer live from FieldEdge through a dedicated integration user and returns it without storing it. The audit log records who asked, which tool ran and the result, with personal fields and free text removed.

FieldEdge is a trademark of its owner. mcpbizapps is not affiliated with Xplor Technologies; the name describes the connection only.
