Litera for Claude, ChatGPT and Copilot
Deal teams on Litera can ask Claude, ChatGPT or Copilot which closing checklist items still wait on signature pages and which open items sit with opposing counsel. Business development staff can find past matters that show the right experience for a pitch. Access follows the matters each person works on, and checklist or experience edits are shown before saving. Litera offers many products, so the guided pilot begins by agreeing which ones are in scope.

Changes, governed
What the assistant can prepare in Litera
The assistant never saves on its own. It prepares the change, the person checks the preview and confirms, and anything above your limits waits for an approver.
- 1 Prepare The assistant drafts the change from the request.
- 2 Preview and confirm The person sees exactly what will change.
- 3 Approve Above your limits, a second person decides.
- 4 Saved and logged Written to Litera under a named person.
-
Update the status of items on a closing checklist
The deal associate confirms; marking an item complete on a signing day needs the supervising partner to approve.
-
Assign a checklist item to a team member
Items are assigned only to lawyers already on the deal team, with the assignee and due date confirmed first.
-
Draft an experience description for a closed matter
The responsible partner approves the description before it is added to the experience record.
Example rules. During the pilot you set the limits, the approvers and which roles may prepare each change.
Why it needs care
Governance built for Litera
Checklists and signature packets reveal clients, deal values and timing long before a deal is announced. Only lawyers staffed on a matter can ask about it. On signing day, marking an item complete waits for the supervising partner, and a client description for the experience database needs the responsible partner. The firm keeps a record of who asked about each deal.

Litera questions
Which Litera products does the connection cover?
Litera offers many products, so we agree the scope in the pilot. Transaction checklists and firm experience data are common starting points because they answer questions deal teams and business development ask every day.
Can the assistant produce a formal redline?
No. Formal comparisons stay in the Litera comparison tool your lawyers already use. The assistant can read a comparison that has been run and summarize the main changes for someone short on time.
Can it describe matters in pitch documents?
It can find experience records that match a pitch and draft short descriptions. Whether a client may be named stays a decision for the responsible partner, and the draft says so before anything is shared.
Does mcpbizapps keep a copy of our Litera data?
No. When someone asks a question, mcpbizapps reads the answer live from Litera through a dedicated integration user and returns it without storing it. The audit log records who asked, which tool ran and the result, with personal fields and free text removed.
Litera is a trademark of its owner. mcpbizapps is not affiliated with Litera; the name describes the connection only.
