Microsoft Fabric for Claude, ChatGPT and Copilot
Microsoft Fabric questions from Claude, ChatGPT or Copilot can cover lakehouse tables, warehouse views, semantic models and the pipelines that load them. People reach only the workspaces their role allows, and row-level security in the warehouse stays on. Capacity use is watched so questions do not throttle reports. Your Fabric admin and our team connect the tenant together in a guided pilot.

Changes, governed
What the assistant can prepare in Microsoft Fabric
The assistant never saves on its own. It prepares the change, the person checks the preview and confirms, and anything above your limits waits for an approver.
- 1 Prepare The assistant drafts the change from the request.
- 2 Preview and confirm The person sees exactly what will change.
- 3 Approve Above your limits, a second person decides.
- 4 Saved and logged Written to Microsoft Fabric under a named person.
-
Pause a Fabric capacity used only for testing
The capacity admin confirms; production capacities are never offered for pausing.
-
Change the schedule of a data pipeline
The workspace admin confirms; moving a finance pipeline past 6 a.m. needs the finance data owner.
-
Give a colleague Viewer access to a workspace
The workspace admin approves; workspaces with confidential labels also need the data steward.
Example rules. During the pilot you set the limits, the approvers and which roles may prepare each change.
Why it needs care
Governance built for Microsoft Fabric
Fabric puts raw files, cleaned tables and the semantic models behind Power BI reports on shared capacity. An assistant works only in the workspaces granted to its role. Sensitivity labels and row-level security still decide what a person may read. Pipeline and access changes appear as a preview first, and the capacity admin can look back over every question asked.
-
Sign-in by work email
Only people you invite, with a one-time code. No shared logins.
-
Roles per tool
Each role reaches only the Microsoft Fabric records it needs.
-
View only, if you prefer
Admins can keep a connection to lookups with one switch.
-
A preview first
Every change is shown in full before anything is saved.
-
Approval rules
Above your limits, a second person approves the change.
-
One audit log
Every request tied to a named person, ready for review.

Microsoft Fabric questions
Can Claude read a Fabric lakehouse and a warehouse in one question?
Yes, when both are approved for that role. The assistant reads lakehouse tables and warehouse views with read-only SQL, and can combine them with semantic model results, all under the same role rules and the same audit log.
Will questions use up our Fabric capacity?
They use some, like any query. mcpbizapps limits how large a question can be, and admins see usage by person. You can also point the connection at a smaller capacity so reporting on the main one is not slowed.
How does this compare with Copilot in Fabric or Fabric data agents?
Those work inside Fabric. mcpbizapps lets people ask from the assistant they already use, including Claude and ChatGPT, and keeps the same roles, approvals and history for Fabric and every other business app you connect.
Does mcpbizapps keep a copy of our Microsoft Fabric data?
No. When someone asks a question, mcpbizapps reads the answer live from Microsoft Fabric through a dedicated integration user and returns it without storing it. The audit log records who asked, which tool ran and the result, with personal fields and free text removed.
Microsoft Fabric is a trademark of its owner. mcpbizapps is not affiliated with Microsoft; the name describes the connection only.
