MyCase for Claude, ChatGPT and Copilot

Small firms on MyCase can ask Claude, ChatGPT or Copilot about events on the calendar for a case next week, hours logged this month, unpaid invoices from September and new leads with no consultation booked. Staff see the cases they already work on, time entries and tasks are shown for review before saving, and trust funds are never moved. Setup happens in a guided pilot with your firm administrator.

Ask in a sentence

What can your team ask MyCase?

Questions from paralegal, attorney, office manager and others, answered from live MyCase data and only for the people allowed to see them.

Records it works with

  • Cases
  • Contacts
  • Leads
  • Events
  • Tasks
  • Time entries
  • Invoices
  • Paralegal

“What events are on the calendar for the Whitfield DUI case next week?”

  • Attorney

“How much time have I logged on the Morales bankruptcy case this month?”

  • Office manager

“Which invoices sent in September are still unpaid, and how much is outstanding?”

  • Firm administrator

“Which cases have trust funds below the amount we requested from the client?”

  • Intake specialist

Changes, governed

What the assistant can prepare in MyCase

The assistant never saves on its own. It prepares the change, the person checks the preview and confirms, and anything above your limits waits for an approver.

  1. 1 Prepare The assistant drafts the change from the request.
  2. 2 Preview and confirm The person sees exactly what will change.
  3. 3 Approve Above your limits, a second person decides.
  4. 4 Saved and logged Written to MyCase under a named person.
  • Draft a time entry for a case from call notes

The attorney confirms the entry; anything over four hours in one entry needs the firm administrator to approve.

  • Create a task with a due date on a case

The person confirms the task, and tasks assigned to an attorney need that attorney to accept.

  • Prepare a draft invoice from unbilled time and expenses

The attorney reviews the draft, and sending the invoice to the client stays with the firm.

Example rules. During the pilot you set the limits, the approvers and which roles may prepare each change.

Why it needs care

Governance built for MyCase

In a small firm one person may handle intake, billing and the calendar, so case access needs clear limits. Staff only reach their assigned cases. Long time entries go to the firm administrator, draft invoices are reviewed by the attorney and never sent by the assistant, and trust money stays untouched. Each question about a case carries the name of the person who asked.

  • Sign-in by work email

Only people you invite, with a one-time code. No shared logins.

  • Roles per tool

Each role reaches only the MyCase records it needs.

  • View only, if you prefer

Admins can keep a connection to lookups with one switch.

  • A preview first

Every change is shown in full before anything is saved.

  • Approval rules

Above your limits, a second person approves the change.

  • One audit log

Every request tied to a named person, ready for review.

MyCase questions

Can the assistant send invoices to clients in MyCase?

No. It prepares a draft invoice from unbilled time and expenses, and the attorney reviews it. Sending the invoice and collecting payment stay with your firm and the payment tools you already use.

Does it help with new leads in MyCase?

Yes. It can list leads that came in over a period, show which have no consultation booked and prepare a follow-up task, so intake staff respond quickly to people who contacted the firm.

Can staff see every case through the assistant?

Only the cases your roles allow. Many firms limit staff to the cases they are assigned to, while partners see the whole firm, and every question about a case is recorded by name.

Does mcpbizapps keep a copy of our MyCase data?

No. When someone asks a question, mcpbizapps reads the answer live from MyCase through a dedicated integration user and returns it without storing it. The audit log records who asked, which tool ran and the result, with personal fields and free text removed.

MyCase is a trademark of its owner. mcpbizapps is not affiliated with 8am; the name describes the connection only.
