Vanta for Claude, ChatGPT and Copilot
Which tests are failing, and why? GRC leads, control owners and engineers ask Claude, ChatGPT or Copilot about Vanta: failing tests, controls mapped to each framework, documents that need new evidence, people with unfinished onboarding tasks, vendors due for review. Owners see what is assigned to them. Risk and policy changes are previewed and approved. Vanta comes online through a guided pilot alongside your GRC lead.

Changes, governed
What the assistant can prepare in Vanta
The assistant never saves on its own. It prepares the change, the person checks the preview and confirms, and anything above your limits waits for an approver.
- 1 Prepare The assistant drafts the change from the request.
- 2 Preview and confirm The person sees exactly what will change.
- 3 Approve Above your limits, a second person decides.
- 4 Saved and logged Written to Vanta under a named person.
-
Assign a failing test to an owner with a due date
The GRC manager confirms; no second approval.
-
Update the treatment of a risk in the risk register
Accepting a high risk needs the CISO or CTO to approve.
-
Mark a test as not relevant with a reason
The GRC manager and the control owner both approve, since it changes audit scope.
Example rules. During the pilot you set the limits, the approvers and which roles may prepare each change.
Why it needs care
Governance built for Vanta
Vanta is where a company shows auditors and customers how its security controls work. A test marked not relevant, or a risk accepted without review, weakens that story. Engineers see only their assigned tests. Scope changes need the GRC manager and the control owner, high risks need the CISO or CTO, and each decision keeps its author's name.

Vanta questions
Can control owners see only their own tests?
Yes. Roles can limit an engineer to the tests and controls assigned to them, while GRC leads see everything. That keeps answers focused and avoids sharing the full risk register widely.
Does it upload evidence to Vanta?
Evidence upload stays in Vanta with the document owner, so the person who knows the evidence is the one who adds it. The assistant tells owners which documents are due and what each one needs.
Can it change the scope of a framework?
It can prepare a change, such as marking a test not relevant with a reason. The GRC manager and the control owner both approve, because scope changes affect what auditors review.
Does mcpbizapps keep a copy of our Vanta data?
No. When someone asks a question, mcpbizapps reads the answer live from Vanta through a dedicated integration user and returns it without storing it. The audit log records who asked, which tool ran and the result, with personal fields and free text removed.
Vanta is a trademark of its owner. mcpbizapps is not affiliated with Vanta; the name describes the connection only.
