CloudZero data shows what each product, team and customer costs to run, which is commercially sensitive. Each role sees only its Views and Dimensions. Anything that changes cost allocation, such as a budget or a Dimension proposal, goes to the FinOps lead. Finance can review every question asked, which helps when numbers are quoted in planning.

Can ChatGPT answer unit cost questions from CloudZero?
Yes. The assistant reads the unit cost metrics you have set up, such as cost per customer or per transaction, and reports the trend for the period you ask about. It names the View used so finance can check.
Can assistants change how costs are allocated?
They can draft a Dimension change for the FinOps lead. Because Dimension changes apply across your full cost history, approval stays with FinOps, and the assistant does not save them directly.
Can it explain a cost anomaly?
Yes. The assistant reads the anomaly, the services and Dimensions behind it and the time it started, then summarizes the likely cause and names the team that owns the spend.
Does mcpbizapps keep a copy of our CloudZero data?
No. When someone asks a question, mcpbizapps reads the answer live from CloudZero through a dedicated integration user and returns it without storing it. The audit log records who asked, which tool ran and the result, with personal fields and free text removed.
