ContractWorks for Claude, ChatGPT and Copilot

Legal, finance and operations teams can ask Claude, ChatGPT or Copilot which ContractWorks contracts auto-renew soon, which vendor agreements expire before March, what notice period a lease has and which contracts lack a counterparty tag. Folder access carries over, and new tags or alerts are shown for review before saving. Your contracts manager helps choose folders during the guided pilot.

Ask in a sentence

  • Contracts manager

Changes, governed

What the assistant can prepare in ContractWorks

The assistant never saves on its own. It prepares the change, the person checks the preview and confirms, and anything above your limits waits for an approver.

  1. 1 Prepare The assistant drafts the change from the request.
  2. 2 Preview and confirm The person sees exactly what will change.
  3. 3 Approve Above your limits, a second person decides.
  4. 4 Saved and logged Written to ContractWorks under a named person.
  • Add tags to a contract, such as renewal date and value

The person confirms the tags; changing an existing value tag needs the contracts manager to approve.

  • Create an alert ahead of a renewal or notice date

Alerts on contracts the person can already open are created once they confirm the date and who is notified.

  • Move a contract to the correct folder

Moves into folders with narrower access need the contracts manager to approve.

Example rules. During the pilot you set the limits, the approvers and which roles may prepare each change.

Why it needs care

Governance built for ContractWorks

As the store of signed agreements, ContractWorks holds prices, liability terms and leases that only some people should read. Restricted folders stay closed to anyone who cannot already open them. Changing an existing value tag, or moving a contract into a narrower folder, waits for the contracts manager, and the log shows who searched for which contract.

  • Sign-in by work email

Only people you invite, with a one-time code. No shared logins.

  • Roles per tool

Each role reaches only the ContractWorks records it needs.

  • View only, if you prefer

Admins can keep a connection to lookups with one switch.

  • A preview first

Every change is shown in full before anything is saved.

  • Approval rules

Above your limits, a second person approves the change.

  • One audit log

Every request tied to a named person, ready for review.

ContractWorks questions

Can the assistant read the text of contracts in ContractWorks?

Yes, for folders in scope and people allowed to see them. It can answer from the document itself, such as a notice period, and from the tags your team has added, and it names the contract it used.

Can it help us tag contracts we uploaded without tags?

Yes. It can suggest tags such as counterparty, renewal date and governing law from the contract text, and the person confirms each one before it is saved, so the repository stays accurate.

Will it replace ContractWorks alerts?

No. Alerts still come from ContractWorks. The assistant can tell people which alerts are coming up and prepare new ones, so renewals and notice dates are not missed by the people who own them.

Does mcpbizapps keep a copy of our ContractWorks data?

No. When someone asks a question, mcpbizapps reads the answer live from ContractWorks through a dedicated integration user and returns it without storing it. The audit log records who asked, which tool ran and the result, with personal fields and free text removed.

ContractWorks is a trademark of its owner. mcpbizapps is not affiliated with Onit; the name describes the connection only.
